The Job: (tasks, duties &responsibilities)
Facilitating the sale of products in our Scamp & Dude retail store. Stocking, organising, presenting, marketing, and selling goods to customers in the store and occasionally over the phone.
Duties include:
• Helping customers to ensure they find what they are looking for and upselling where possible
Opening/closing the store according to operating hours;
• Operating a cash register;
• Counting out the correct change when tendering cash;
• Cleaning and maintaining the store floor and stockroom space;
• Monitoring inventory;
• Suggesting to Store Manager when stock needs ordering when a product is running out;
• Communicating with customers over the phone and in person, answering all questions they have, occasionally taking orders over the phone and arranging parcels for delivery;
• Keeping aware of what types of products are in the range and making recommendations to customers;
• Actioning all markdowns in line with Head Office guidelines under supervision of Store Manager;
• Deferring to Store Manager when a customer issue proves too difficult to handle alone;
• Following procedures like dress code, customer etiquette, safety regulations, and other precautions and requirements;
• Unpacking the deliveries and putting away stock into the correct places in the stockroom;
• Engaging in appropriate behaviour at all times, representing the business in a positive light;
• Processing returned items;
• Completing ad hoc tasks as delegated by Store Manager;
• Assisting in regular stock stocks to ensure data accuracy
