Job Overview
Provide first response maintenance and engineering services for the MSD maintenance contract portfolio. Complete PPM tasks, reactive works, and quoted works in line with service level agreements. Supervise and attend site for sub-contractor works. Ensure safe working environments and compliance with company values.
Main Duties:
- Lead a team and schedule maintenance and repair of building services assets.
- Respond to breakdowns and reactive calls.
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs or advise on further actions.
- Monitor plant, equipment, and systems to ensure service continuity.
- Research and procure spare parts and components.
- Conduct dynamic risk assessments and escalate concerns.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with COSHH regulations for hazardous materials.
- Maintain critical spares and consumables on site.
- Review and advise on maintenance procedures.
- Complete engineers logs and site-based information records.
- Assist in creating SOPs and EOPs.
- Available for overtime and shift work.
- Maintain company brand standards.
- Regular contact with Service Desk, Supervisors, Contract Managers, and Customer contacts.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Report near misses, accidents, and incidents.
- Notify line manager of any lapses in procedures or control measures.
Qualifications and Experience:
- ILM/recognized leadership course.
- C&G Level 3 or equivalent in relevant subject (Mechanical, Electrical, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration).
- ONC/HNC building services engineering, mechanical or electrical engineering.
- NVQ Level 3.
- Recognized EITB apprenticeship (Maintenance and Operations Engineering MOET), or similar.
- 2+ years of experience in engineering and maintenance services within the building services industry.
- Fully conversant with electrical and mechanical maintenance activities.
- Competency in basic IT and computer skills.
- Holder of full driving license (where applicable).
- Ability to work well under pressure and during unsociable hours.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
